If you’ve returned to our site again for the first time recently, you might have noticed a few changes around here recently… we’ve got a brand new website! Our previous website served us well for many years, but as we move into a new year (and a new decade) we decided it was time to update our online presence accordingly so that it could continue to properly showcase our brilliant selection of cotton shirting fabrics. If you’re a regular customer of ours, you may have had the opportunity to get acquainted already, but either way we thought we’d give a quick rundown of what’s new.

Welcome to the new online presence of Acorn Fabrics

Lots of the changes won’t be immediately obvious at first glance, but hopefully their effects will – there have been lots of little technical updates behind the scenes to ensure that the site loads faster and runs more smoothly. Rather than our former platform of Opencart, we’ve moved to a WordPress, Woocommerce platform, so that the result is a better user experience for you, our customers. Amongst the more prominent new additions is a brand new mega menu, so that the site is easier to navigate. The Gallery section has been overhauled too, designed to give you a better visual representation of the fabrics you’re planning to buy. We’ve also got a new Catalogue section, which you can view online to Buy Now to take back with you. At the back of the range card on our Catalogue is a feeler swatch, which includes a larger example of the different qualities in the collection so you can get a better idea of their feel and overall quality.

And of course, the entire site still boasts a fantastical selection of cotton shirting fabrics in a huge range of colours, shades, sizes, textures and patterns. We take care to maintain this wide selection as we have a broad customer base here at Acorn, which includes not only professional tailors and seamstresses, but also a range of other groups such as students (the latter of whom even have their own brand new tab on our site!)
