We are dedicated to sustainability
Being naturally sustainable has always been at the heart of our company, a quality garment made to last is always better for our planet than poor quality throw away fashion.
Sustainability
Although Acorn Fabrics have always had an eye on sustainability in terms of producing fabrics that are of higher quality, designed to last longer, which in turn encourages a shift away from fast fashion and supplying fabrics that are certified by the Oeko Tex 100 standard which shows our fabrics are free of over 100 harmful chemicals. We have now taken the next step by offering more Sustainable fabrics.
Sustainable fabrics are textiles that are produced in ways that minimize environmental impact and promote ethical practices. This includes using renewable resources, reducing waste, and ensuring fair labour practices throughout the supply chain. The goal is to create materials that are kinder to the planet and the people involved in their production.
We offer the following sustainable fabrics:
1. Organic Cotton: Unlike conventional cotton, organic cotton is grown without harmful pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. It uses less water and supports healthier ecosystems. It’s soft, durable, and biodegradable, making it a top choice for eco-friendly fashion. Our organic fabrics are Certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
2. Tencel (Lyocell): Tencel is made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, primarily from eucalyptus trees. The production process is eco-friendly, utilizing a closed-loop system that recycles almost all the solvents and water used. Tencel is known for its softness, breathability, and biodegradability.
3. Linen: Linen is made from the flax plant, which requires less water and fewer pesticides than cotton. It’s biodegradable, highly durable, and has a natural texture that gets softer with each wash, making it a timeless choice for eco-conscious consumers.
Corporate Social Responsibility
The move towards sustainable fabrics is not just a trend—it’s a crucial step towards a more ethical and environmentally responsible fashion industry. By choosing garments made from sustainable materials, consumers can play a significant role in reducing the industry’s impact on the planet. Whether you’re a designer, retailer, or shopper, opting for sustainable fabrics is a choice that reflects a commitment to a better future for both fashion and the environment.
